Lynn University student-athletes have a new state-of-the-art home to compete and pursue excellence as the women's softball program takes the field at Tish Celenza Messinger Stadium. Named in honor of longtime university supporter and accomplished athlete Tish Messinger, the new facility was made possible in part by her $1.3 million pledge, which supports both the stadium and student scholarships. Completed this spring—just in time for the 2026 Lynn women's softball season—the stadium features synthetic turf, modern dugouts and an elevated press box with advanced technology. It accommodates more than 200 spectators.

"This transformative gift—the largest ever made to women's sports at Lynn University—will elevate our growing softball program and create lasting opportunities for our student-athletes," said President Kevin M. Ross. "We are deeply grateful for Tish's generosity and commitment to our students."

The stadium has also been recognized by the American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) in the Field Facilities, Multi-Field Facility category. The honor recognizes the project team behind Lynn's new athletics facilities, which support the university's NCAA Division II Fighting Knights baseball and softball programs. Messinger's support for the stadium creates new opportunities for student-athletes to compete while pursuing their education. "Tish's impact can be felt across campus," said Lynn Director of Advancement Dr. Lisa A. Miller. "She is a deeply engaged member of our community who actively supports the university's strategic priorities. Tish is passionate about creating opportunities for students and seeing firsthand how her support changes lives."

Messinger's previous gifts have included aid for student necessities, significant support for scholarships and annual donations. Her latest contribution is a major investment in the growth of the softball program and its players. Softball is one of the university's longstanding programs, with more than 20 years of competition in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC). Notable accomplishments include 50 SSC Softball All-Conference honors, four softball All-Americans and three alumni who went pro. A testament to the university's competitive spirit, Lynn's NCAA Division II Fighting Knights athletics programs have won 27 national championships.

For Lynn alumna and Head Softball Coach Cassidy Pickett '25, the new stadium represents an opportunity to build on that tradition and raise the program's level of competition. "With a new stadium and expanded scholarship support, the excitement truly feels like day one again," said Pickett. "This investment creates incredible momentum for our program and opens the door for us to recruit and develop exceptional student-athletes."
